Ya Tebe Pokudayu / I’m Leaving You, 2025
I’m Leaving You is a poignant, time-fractured meditation on displacement, intimacy, and the multi-dimensional, emotional architecture of leaving. Through an intricate weaving of family footage captured in Western Ukraine in 2024 and performative readings and dance filmed in London between 2024–2025, the artist constructs a layered narrative that is both autobiographical and communal.
I'm Leaving You is not just about separation but the salvation of the inevitable reunion—a reunification of internal and external estrangements left behind like ruins after a war battle. The disjunctions formed between the senses through a transgressive use of sound and filmic collage, as well as the narrative differences of indoor vs outdoor settings, create space to blur the lines between ethnography, art, film and performance.
